It looks like a breadbox, it sits on the counter and looks like a very nice simple wooden breadbox -- but wait! What is that Sim doing with it? He's cooking with it! That's because it may look like a breadbox, but it works like a microwave. Another item I came up with for my Sim Valinor kitchens, because I couldn't find anything that didn't look absurd sitting on a Vala's or Maia's counters. I had started working on the sprites to make the thing open when the Sim uses it, but it looked absolutely ridiculous, because the top of this thing obviously lifts up to open and doesn't swing out like a door -- but when the Sims use it, their movements are the same as they would be with a microwave. I found that it looked less silly to have them do the microwave song-and-dance while the breadbox sits there doing nothing than it did to have the box open in the wrong direction. Maybe someday, I'll figure out the vagaries of animating Sims, and get it to work properly. Until then, it's cooking with magic |
