Once again, my flakey Muse has decided to go off in a direction I hadn't anticipated.  I'd planned to have Ulmo be the next Vala I completed, since I was already started on him and had been tinkering with him for a while, but Dementia had other ideas.  She decided to go off and produce Oromë the Hunter.  I wasn't terribly displeased or surprised by this, since he was high on the list of "do next" Sims, and turned out to be easier than I had expected, once I got past the problem of his face.  His body mesh is a variant of the one I used for Elladan and Elrohir, and his head is a variant of the mesh I made for Elrond.  This wasn't entirely the result of trying to save work for myself.  Oromë was the first of the Valar to encounter the Elves after they had awakened, and it struck me as fitting that they might have some similarities in appearance -- although who was emulating who is anyone's guess.

Because Oromë was a hunter who loved horses and hounds and spent much of his time hunting the monsters of Melkor, I have always thought he would have the appearance of someone who is often outdoors, in the wild -- hence the tan skin.  He will appear with the medium-skinned Sims.  The "with bow" version also shows him carrying a bow slung across his back, as depicted in the images below.  Too bad I can't get him to actually use the thing...

*Although I know of many people who were quite... er... fond of my original version of Oromë, I was never quite happy with it, for two reasons: the body mesh was too blocky and didn't achieve quite the effect I was hoping for (ditto the head), and the skin for the face was muddy, lacking the detail I imagined in my head. Thankfully, practice with my tools has paid off, and now I have a version of the Hunter much closer to that in my imagination.
