Aside from Ossë and Uinen, Melian -- a Maia servant of Vána and Estë who tended the flowers of Lórien -- is probably the best known of all the Maiar among the inhabitants of Middle-earth, and certainly the one who has left the most lasting legacy, since from her marriage to Elwë, the king of Doriath, came Lúthien Tinúviel, and from Lúthien came not only the line of Elrond and his daughter Arwen, but also the line of Elros and thus the kings of Númenor and their descendants.  Although we are told in The Silmarillion that Melian had a beautiful voice and taught the nightingales to sing, of her appearance, we know only that she was (as usual) tremendously beautiful, so beautiful that the sight of her kept Elwë rooted to the spot in the forests of Middle-earth during the Great Journey, and thus he never traveled with the other Eldar to Valinor.  Since Lúthien was said to be the most beautiful of all the Children of Ilúvatar who had ever been or would be, it seemed quite reasonable to me that she inherited some part of her beauty from her Maia mother; so by reverse engineering I gave Melian black hair and gray eyes, as Luthien was described.  Her gown and head meshes are based on variations of those for Vána, while the skin for her gown utilizes some of the grays and silvers of Estë's, to reflect both of the Valier she served.  And once again, the "flowers" mentioned in the downloads is the cluster of blue flowers at the back of her head, which will drop when she changes clothing.
