Maeglin
Son of Aredhel and Eöl, Nephew of Turgon, Betrayer of Gondolin
Much like his great-uncle Fëanor, Maeglin is one of the characters in The Silmarillion who "looked fair but felt foul." Even though he won the approval of his uncle Turgon after he and his mother Aredhel were able to escape Eöl and return to Gondolin, his stay in the hidden city began with his father trying to kill him and his mother dying to save him. Having learned the skills of a smith from his father, Maeglin was able to use his talents to improve the arms of Gondolin (it's possible he was the one who designed and/or forged Glamdring and Orcrist, although there's no hard evidence to support this), but ultimately, his "good deeds" were not done as the result of a noble and well-intended heart. Maeglin wanted his mother to flee his father and return with him to Gondolin because he had realized that Turgon had no sons, only a daughter, and therefore as his sister's son, he was the heir to the crown of Gondolin. That his motives were not pure was further proved by his lust for Idril Celebrindal, Turgon's daughter and his first cousin. As Tolkien put it, the Eldar did not marry such near kin, but that and the fact that Idril 1). despised Maeglin and 2). was already married to Tuor, did nothing to change his desire to win her, and the crown. In the end, when Maeglin was captured by the minions of Melkor and readily betrayed the location of Gondolin to save his own skin. During the sack of the city, he tried to kill Tuor and kidnap Idril, but was himself slain by Tuor, who in their battle threw him from the same precipice from which Eöl was hurled when he was executed. A fitting end for the traitor, since that was where Eöl cursed his son just before he died.
Creating a Sim for Maeglin was not difficult, since Tolkien did provide some specifics about him. He took after his Noldorin mother and had black hair; he was a fierce warrior, but was also proud, and tended to be moody -- tendencies he may have inherited from his father, that were further intensified by his unhealthy obsession with Idril. I chose to give his clothing a touch more color (dark blue and gold) than Eöl, since Maeglin was not repelled by sunlight. His hair was a deliberate cross between his mother's and father's, having the asymmetrical back like Aredhel, and some of the meticulous braiding I gave Eöl. The black fishscale pattern of his tunic was meant to suggest armor without being an actual breastplate or mail. A few additional slanted and/or asymmetrical touches (the boot cuffs and side belt) were added as an artistic suggestion of his character: crooked, and imbalanced.
