Elf of Rivendell

Of all the Elves and Men and Ainur and Hobbits I've made for the Sims thus far, Lindir is probably the one with absolutely the least history behind him. We know two things about him for certain: he was in the Hall of Fire listening to Bilbo recite his verses about Earendil, and in his opinion, mortals are all very much alike ("to sheep other sheep no doubt appear different"). That's it. We also know that his name appears to have the same root as the name the Teleri gave themselves -- "Lindar," singers -- so we can presume that his name has something to do with song. From that and his appearance in the Hall, listening to Bilbo's recitation, it has been presumed that he's some kind of minstrel, although the conclusion of his remark about sheep ("But Mortals have not been our study. We have other business.") might incline one to believe that he acts in some greater capacity than that of a mere entertainer. One might also presume that he is of Telerin origin, since music was very important to the Teleri, but with so little to go on, it's impossible to draw any definite conclusion. Lindir is such a straightforward and simple name, it's quite possible that he is far from the only Elf who bears it.

At any rate, in creating my version of him, I deliberately went for more colorful clothing, to befit his somewhat snooty attitude about Mortals, which might go hand in hand with a habitual desire to be at or near the center of attention (common among many performers). I know that there is a belief among many fan writers that Lindir has white hair (I can only presume this is something picked up from Jackson's movies; I'd never heard of such an interpretation before), so I deliberately stayed away from that, as I'd never really imagined any of the Elves of Rivendell as exceptionally fair-haired (save Glorfindel and Celebrian, who were both "outsiders"). I chose instead a light brown/blond, which I tend to envision among the darker common hair shades for the Telerin Elves.
