In attempting to add to the population of Lothlórien, Haldir was an obvious choice.  However, though I found the face skin relatively easy to do, when I looked at the available pictures of Haldir's clothing, I was somewhat less than impressed.  The armor he wore in Jackson's Two Towers was attractive, but more intricate than I felt like fighting with, and also a bit much for everyday wear around the Sim neighborhood.  The gray sack he wore in FotR was practical as work clothes for a guard of the Golden Wood, but as something for off-duty wear, I found it left a lot to be desired.  So I decided to use Mr. Parker's resemblance for the face and head, and design something of my own for the body skin.  Image

I had sketches of a much more complex tunic, but that also didn't work for me as Sim everyday wear, so I finally opted to stick with the gray palette, simple textures, and leaf embellishments.  The opening of the tunic is off-center, as is the closure of the cloak in the opposite direction.  The belt buckle and cloak clasp are both variants based on the pins that were designed for the Fellowship brooches in the movies; the bow is just a prop for the screen shot and is not included in the downloads.  In the end, although he still has gray nubbly clothing of relatively straightforward design, I felt it suited the character with just enough distinction to allow him to stand out and be easily identifiable in any Sim neighborhood.
