Seasonal Variations Estë Summer and Fall Summer (top row), Fall (second row), Winter (bottom row). Summer and winter are new meshes and are included in the same zip. Fall is based on my mesh for Elwing (b1k6fafit), which is included in the download. The two winter downloads are exactly the same in appearance; the only difference is that the buyable version will only appear as buyable winter clothing once installed. The non-buyable version will appear in ordinary clothing selection rotations. |

Seasonal Variations and Old Head Version Below*
In my initial attempts at rendering Sim versions of the Valar, Estë was the last Sim I made before I began the transitional phase, in which I began to learn more about texture mapping to improve the appearance of my skins and meshes. The spouse of Irmo, Estë sleeps by day and wakes at night (no, she's not the undead or a vampire; that will eventually come when I take a crack at Thuringwethil, the female vampire associate of Morgoth and Sauron), and she is thus strongly associated with night, and is said to be clad in gray. That's not so bad for one or two outfits, but when attempting to come up with a seasonal wardrobe... ai. Nonetheless, I eventually managed something appropriate for every season but spring (there is something in me that balks at the notion of gray in the spring, but I suppose I'll eventually work that out, too).
Early in his creation of the Valar, Tolkien had thought that Estë might not be a Vala at all, but rather the head of the Maiar, but apparently he changed his mind, since sources now say that Nessa was the least of the queens of the Valar, not Estë (which is why I gave Estë a simple circlet but not Nessa). It seems appropriate that Estë have such status, since her powers of healing would appear to be greater and more useful than Nessa's fondness for dancing and running, since it was to her land that even the mightiest of the Valar came for healing and refreshment when they were weary from their labors, be they the shaping of the world or the early struggles against Melkor.
*The new body mesh is different in that it has better detail on the belt and collar; the new head has a slightly less "pinched" mouth, and new versions of the long braids that are properly texture mapped to look like more realistic plaits. The old face still has a slightly "softer" look about it, but will not correctly texture map to the new mesh, so it is still available on the lower right, for those who might prefer it.
