Amarië
Vanyarin Elf, Beloved of Finrod Felagund

At least this time, it didn't take my Muse months to finish a project because of other things sidetracking me (only... three). We don't know much about Amarië, other than the fact that she was one of the Vanyar, that she was loved by Finrod, and that she refused to follow him when he followed his other Noldor kin into Middle-earth, chasing after Fëanor. Because the Vanyar were said to be fairest of all the Eldar, and I can't think of a single Vanya whose hair color was mentioned and wasn't blond, I presumed that Amarië was very likely blonde as well. The braids across the crown of the head was not intended to indicate any connection with Eärwen; it was coincidental, since I had started both head meshes about two months apart. Since I don't recall that Amarië was said to have any kind of noble lineage, I didn't want to give her a circlet or a crown, but did want her to have some kind of decorative accent in her hair that could be clearly seen from the front. Same with Eärwen; although she was the daughter of the lord of the Teleri, I never pictured the sea-Elves as being big on the trappings of royalty. The Vanyar certainly might have been (since Ingwë was High King of all the Elves), but again, I couldn't find any clear indication that Amarië was a close relative of his (Indis, yes, but I haven't gotten around to her yet)

Since we don't know when or if Finrod was released from the Halls of Mandos (I should think he would have been, given the circumstances of his death, not to mention his general life, in Middle-earth), we don't know if he and Amarië ever got together after his release, or if she turned to someone else during his absence. It's nice to think that they might have, since it was for love of her that he remained unmarried while in Middle-earth.
